First grade is such a fun age that comes with incredible growth in the students.
In this class, we learn how to be well-rounded humans so that these students can succeed in life.
I have 22 fun, energetic, joyful, creative, observant students. They love to learn academics as well as to tap into their creative side with the arts.
I believe the classroom atmosphere plays into a big part of how students learn. I try to make this classroom relaxing and calm to help students achievement their greatest potential. We have a judgmental free classroom where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and grow in their own ways.
My Project
My school is set in the middle of a city and has no direct access to nature. Growing up in the mountains, my teachers would bring us outside daily to complete projects as they knew a peaceful environment can add a lot to student learning. Although my students may not have direct access to nature in the city, maybe they can have a little bit in the classroom.
I would like to create a classroom that brings peace to sometimes crazy and chaotic days.
I have experimented with some of my own plants this past year, and it seems to bring a very peaceful effect over my classroom. My students can learn better when they are at ease in their surroundings.
