Help me give my students the gift of literacy. While they are able to visit the school library once a week, it is nice for students to have access to books in the classroom, too.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are special because many of them have a unique and unfortunate home life. My school serves as a safe and structured environment for these kids. This includes keeping the classroom clean and safe. The students come from a very low income community, so not many supplies are available to us. While they have "the basics" in their classroom, many of my students do not have the resources to be able to use fun and exciting tools that enhance their learning in the classroom.
My Project
These materials will have a lasting impact on my students because they will be using these materials on a daily basis. While they go to the library once a week, students often finish their books before it is time to return, leaving them with a small pool of books to choose from until we visit the library next. Adding to their nonfiction library will allow them to build their imagination and have access to books they otherwise may never get to read. This list of books is the most requested from actual students in my class, so I can assure you they will thoroughly enjoy each and every one!
