This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Scholars are BLA are your typical teenagers, but with the unfortunate circumstances of going to a school in a food desert in a windowless building. Our scholars are funny, smart, humble and make the best of whatever situations they find themselves in. The gratitude our scholars show for the smallest things are why I know they will appreciate this new venture.

Our scholars have every right to fresh, healthy foods and access to clear air and nature.

Taking care of these gardens will also teach them responsibility and how to care for life other than their own. We hope to make learning more hands on for them as we simultaneously teach them healthier habits.
