My Students

Our school is located in a small, rural area. It is made up of kindergarten-4th grade students, many of which receive free and reduced-price lunches. The class sizes average between 18 and 25 students.

When the students walk into the classroom, it's my hope that they are eager and ready to learn.

I have 18 students in my classroom, all who have different needs and need different strategies that help them learn best. Sometimes that means thinking out of the box and trying something new!

My Project

One resource I feel my students would greatly benefit from is a kidney table. It would allow me to give small groups the individual instruction that they need. This table would help in many ways. We could use it for writing workshop, small group work, and RtI.

When I am working with students, it's helpful to be able to see what each student is working on.

The biggest benefit of the kidney table is having a designated space where the students are working around you. I can listen to students read, help with math, and conference with small groups on writing assignments.
