Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a small charter school catering to students in grades 6-12. We have an incredibly amazing and diverse population which makes this school very special. Over 80% of our students are on free or reduced lunch and also come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Motivating our students and getting them to participate in school events and community events has been a challenge but my TV production students feel they can make a difference. Chris and Vanessa are two wonderful and extremely motivated students who want to make a difference at our school by producing informative and entertaining daily morning announcements to the student body. We have limited resources right now but they have been able to create daily morning announcements to begin to motivate students and making sure they stay informed. They have already made a difference in a few weeks but wish to make a bigger impact in the future.
My students will have the opportunity to learn about the TV Production industry and all it has to offer them now and in the future. They will learn about real-life situations like, meeting deadlines and collaborating with others to produce a show on a daily basis. Students in this class will also learn how to research, write and edit for a news show which will also help them prepare for the different State and National assessments they will take throughout their high school and college careers. Lastly, they will be bringing important information to the students, faculty and staff every morning. The announcements will highlight students, athletes and events that are taking place in our school and in the community. This will hopefully increase interest and participation in events going on at our school and bring our student body and faculty closer together.

We are trying to bring the morning announcements to all the students on a daily basis. This will help us keep everyone informed on what is going on in school. It will also help us highlight students and teachers that make a difference in our school and in the community. We will also be able to show highlights of our students playing sports and participating in different events throughout the year. Chris
My TV Production team and I are doing something new and special at our school. We have the opportunity to create a special program at our school that will bring information and entertainment to our school. I am happy to be part of this and I cannot wait to not only bring the morning announcements to our school but create films and videos and compete on a national level in the future. Vanessa
The morning announcements will not only inform our students and teachers about what is happening in our school, but it will also bring our school closer together. We think that when people see the morning announcements, it is more effective than just listening to them through the loud speaker. Everyone can see our personalities on air and this makes the announcements more interesting. Students will pay more attention and hopefully this will result in getting everyone to participate in events happening at our school and in the community. Chris
