Bringing it Back to the Basics

Help me give my students the classrooms basics such as pencils, dry erase markers, magnetic whiteboards, testing shields, and uniform clothing to finish out the school year as we soar towards success!

My Project

As we are quickly approaching the end of the school year my students are in need of some basic classroom supplies. Items that we go through quickly in our classroom are supplies like glue sticks, dry erase markers, and incentive stickers. I'd love to be able to refresh some of our basic supplies as we begin to increase the amount of writing we are doing within our classroom. I would also like to give my students who are struggling to meet the school uniform policy some additional clothing options at school by getting school shirts, pants, and a sweater to provide warmth during cold school days.

In addition to students needs, a need our school has is privacy shields for testing.

These privacy shields would be a great addition to our classroom to help ensure that all assessment data is accurate. As it stands now, students are using folders to conceal their answers testing but the folders often fall down and become a distraction for students during assessment times.

Having these magnetic whiteboards, dry erase pocket folders, and dry erase markers will help improve their first-grade foundational skills. When using our Daily 4 model during intervention students complete a variety of independent activities that include cutting and pasting, utilizing dry erase pocket folders and word building with magnetic letters. As it stands now, we have a class set of magnetic letters but we aren't able to fully utilize them because we do not have access to magnetic whiteboards. Students will be practicing their literacy and mathematics skills in fun interactive way with the items funded in this project . As first grade leaders, we are striving to make great growth this year and creating engaging learning opportunities help to ensure our success this year.
