I teach at a small country school in rural Livingston Parish. Our parish finances have been stretched due to Hurricane related budget restraints. Our school has served the surrounding low income community well. It has been my dream and desire as the only junior high social studies teacher in our small school, to obtain a projector that could be used to project my power point presentations and educational videos onto a large screen in the front of my classroom. I currently use a TV screen that is small and difficult for the students to see. The projector would allow me to vividly portray various technology based materials to my 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. This projector will allow me to implement technology in my class and students will easily view media presentations. Presentations will be large, clear and vivid. Historical videos will come to life on a grand scale. Students will be captivated with a movie theater type atmosphere. Students attention will be increased as the video presentations and power point presentations are easily and clearly viewed on the big screen. Thank you for your kind consideration of this proposal in order to help this small school and community.
