My students need these items to help them learn their letters and sounds. The family engagement packs will help the students get their families involved with their learning.
I am a teacher in a Title I school. My classroom is made up of EC children and typical developing students. I have students who have special needs and behavior challenges. My classroom also has students who are learning English as a second language.
My students try so hard to learn new things!
They work hard every day to learn the new things that are needed for school. They love taking books home to read to their parents by doing a picture walk. They love showing their families what they can do even before they learn to read words in a book.
My Project
The family engagement packs will help my students get their families involved. I will send the packs home with the students, and this will allow them to get their families involved with their learning. This will allow the students to learn while at the same time get parents involved.
When parents get involved with their child's learning it makes the child feel more excited about learning.
These family packs will also help my nonspeaking parents learn English with their child. It will allow the child to be the teacher and enjoy teaching their parents what they know.
The packs will go home each night with the child and this will allow them to have hands on experience with their homework. I think children learn better when they have their families involved. I also think the children learn better if they have hands on experience. These packs will provide both experiences.
The alphabet tubs will allow my students to have hands-on experience learning their letters and sounds. This will help keep the students involved with learning and not be so bored.
This project will also be used in a school that serves military families.
