My students need Mastering Phonics Games Library, and other phonics games to help build reading skills. They also need Reading Comprehension Games Library and Interactive Comprehension journals!
My students are imaginative and have a love for learning. They have a zest that makes them a lot of fun to work with. Each year our classroom size is growing. My first year there were 23 students, this year we are up to 27. One of my main priorities with my classroom is creating a sense of community and family.
My students are very creative, funny, and bright.
They love being challenged and being silly. We are a project-based school that uses technology in the classroom. For this group, I believe that having a designated floor space will give us the opportunity to grow as a classroom family.
My Project
This project will be used to help students, who may be struggling with reading skills, to receive a little bit of extra help before moving to the next grade level. The Pop & Match Game and other phonics games will help the students to master skills needed to read fluently. We will also be working on their comprehension during this time as well by reading nonfiction, fiction, reading diagrams and charts, and analyzing texts. My goal through this project is to bring life and fun into the phonics and comprehension learning process. Especially for some of the older kids, who may feel embarrassed, it is important to put a "fun" spin on learning to read!
