Bringing Educational Materials to Exceptional Children
My students need math picture books, a Fraction Learning Center, a Time Learning Center, 4 scientific calculators, 10 privacy partitions, and headphones.
Imagine sitting in a classroom and not being able to understand the concept being taught? You are being told that you will be seeing this material from year to year but it will be more in depth. No matter how many different ways the concept is explained, you still have trouble understanding it.
My students are in kindergarten to sixth grade with the addition of seventh grade next year.
They have many different diagnoses and are very visual and tactile learners. They require hands on materials to reach their educational and functional goals.
My Project
My goal is that my students will learn, retain, and connect information for future lessons. I will use learning centers, and picture books to make concepts and topics come alive. Students will use the headphones to watch educational videos on their favorite websites to gain a more knowledge. My older students will have a working knowledge of scientific calculators which will help them tremendously on end of year testing. Lastly, my students will stay focused and on task with the use of privacy partitions. Your donations will help increase my students’ academic knowledge and greatly increase their self-esteem.
I am a new teacher and I teach separate setting classes and resource room.
The school I work for is a fast growing charter school. As the school expands, so does the number of Exceptional Children. These donations will increase my classroom math library; provide needed technology, learning centers, and teaching materials to provide students with interactive lessons in a warm and welcoming environment.
