Help me give my students colored pencils and markers for their various school projects. We have many students that come to school without the needed supplies and this will allow all students to participate.
The students in my classroom come from a variety of different backgrounds with varying opportunities. I have students that range academically from several years below grade level to on grade level. I have many students that are struggling with the learning lost due to the pandemic and are trying to catch back up. Within my classroom, I have several learners that English is not their native language.
My Project
We often do character biographies in which the students use textual evidence to make their characters from readings come to life. By providing all students the necessary materials to complete projects to a high standard, students feel a sense of pride in their work. This will also help students to understand the importance of looking for details and help prepare them for high school. By having a class set of colored pencils and markers, every student participate in activities without feeling like they are not prepared. For those students that may have them, but did not bring them to class, a class set eliminates the need to go to their lockers and waste class time.
