My Students

Our school encourages everyone to share their family traditions, cuisines, cultures, and languages with pride. Students love learning about what life is like in other parts of the world and what life was like in the past as part of their history and geography class.

The kids in my class are motivated, hard-working, and eager students who really love to learn about the world.

They take school very seriously and love to impress adults with how smart and talented they are!

My Project

This field trip will allow my students to experience life on a "Californio" rancho! They will take a trip back in time during a visit to the Sanchez Adobe. During the visit, they will discover the early use of the land and its natural resources during a grounds tour. Students are introduced to the people who lived at the site which was an Ohlone village, a Spanish mission outpost, and a Mexican rancho.

The hands-on history program features three exciting activity stations.

First, they will take a house tour and participate in daily chores of a Californio rancho by grinding corn and roping a “cow.” They will also make candles and learn about the hide-and-tallow trade.

The most exciting experience might be climbing into the mud pit and making adobe bricks like those used to build the Sanchez Adobe!
