I am teaching Kindergarten this year at a new district.
My students are eager to learn and are so excited to be able to come into the classroom.
They are loving their first year of school and exploring all the things. I work in a Title I school and many students come from low income family situations.
I love watching my students learn and grow everyday. Our time in kindergarten is so important because we teach the foundational skills they will use their whole lives. I am so proud of how my students cheer their peers on in their learning as well and keep our classroom community a happy place to be!
My Project
Sadly, in the last several years in education, art has been pushed to the side. Students in kindergarten enjoy finding their creative spirit and are really figuring themselves out!
Being able to bring MORE art into the classroom, especially at such a young age, is so important!
I want students to be able to see the beauty and fun that school can be. We know students will face many hard challenges in their older grades and what I want students to remember about kindergarten is that they learned, but also that they got to create, to paint, to build, and to work together.
We haven't gotten to paint too much this year, but I try to fit it in when I can get the supplies. These paint brushes and other art supplies will be so beneficial in bringing their imagination to life!
