Help me give my students these filters for our classroom because none of the students on my team have classrooms with windows. I am hoping these cloud fluorescent light filters put a smile on our faces.
I am lucky enough to teach in a school with a diverse student population. I am even luckier to teach in an inclusive classroom. This allows for rich discussion between all of my students because all of my students are coming into my classroom with a different experience and background. Whether it is gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, etc. It is my job to make these students feel comfortable. That being said my students are
excitable and full of questions!
They absolutely love hands-on, engaging learning and challenges that allow them to think outside the box! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. I really enjoying working with them and want to make their science experience the best every year!
Our school was redesigned before I arrived here and all of the science rooms are interior rooms. It makes teaching and learning day in and day out extremely depressing when you see no natural light because you arrive before the sun comes up and leave by the time it goes down.
I am a full believer that a happy teacher is a good teacher.
I also believe that a happy student is an engaged student. I know these filters, while not actually natural light, will lift our spirits and mood throughout the day. These donations will not only help to improve my teaching, mood, and active engagement strategies, but will also help my students to enjoy our classroom even more.
These materials will help students stay cheerful and be in awe of what some filters on fluorescent lights can do to one's mood.
