This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching Science in Middle School ,specifically 8th graders, is gratifying as these students are curious about how things work around them and why! They want answers and are willing to go the extra mile to find those answers to their questions. Right now, my students are learning about science inquiry, how to investigate a problem so that they can collect data, and develop a conclusion that will either support or refute their initial hypothesis. This is a skill that teaches the LOVE of science, it is a life skill.

My Project

A 3D printer will allow me to illustrate difficult concepts and enhance engagement through interactive learning. This is especially beneficial when using physical learning materials or objects, for example, when students are learning about fossils and artifacts, they are unable to touch or hold these items. 3D printing lets students touch, study and even take home products that are as intricate as the real-work equivalent. Being able to try new things, test theories, and think more creatively will aid in the learning process. The 3D printer will encourage my students to become innovative and creative because they can adjust their idea through trial and error.
