Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Over the years, science has been placed on the back burner in a lot of schools. People just don't feel that science is as important as math or language arts. Our school site does not even have a science curriculum. I would like to use science kits so that the students would be able to experience science in a hands on manner. The science kits I am interested in are aligned with the 4th grade science standards. They focus on circuits and magnetism. The kits come with materials for the children to create series and parallel circuits, compasses, and materials to investigate magnetic and non-magnetic objects. Often student families don't have the money or the transportation to take their children to such science museums. Having the activities in the classroom will give more students a chance to have great learning experiences without hurting the parents' budget. It is important for the students to know about science and all it teaches about the world, and life. Science kits would help the students learn necessary life skills and have fun all in the classroom.
