Bring Science To Life For Third Graders in the Bronx

I teach third grade at PS/MS 194 in the Bronx. Approximately 92% of the students at my school receive free lunch, as they come from low income families. Many of my students do not know much about the world outside of the Bronx. I am often shocked at the basic knowledge that my students are lacking, but I realize that this is due to a severe lack of resources both at home and at school.
I am asking for your help to expose my students to the world of science. My school has only been open three years, and does not have the funds to purchase science materials because there is such a heavy focus on reading and math due to required state promotional exams. However, my students will have to pass a state science exam next year, and I don't have anything to teach them science with, unless I buy the materials myself or search the internet for free worksheets!
I am asking for a set of learning activity tubs which cover all of the science topics, such as plants, animals, matter, force and motion, insects, solar system, rocks and soil. This kit would include everything I need to bring science to life in my classroom, such as read aloud books, writing activities, equipment for experiments, and hands on activities. Some of the activities my students would participate in are creating their own constellations, go on a rock scavenger hunt, and keeping weather journals. The best thing about the kit is that my students could have fun while they learn. I am also asking for a set of science library books so I can read to my students about the activities in the kits.
