Help me give my students a printer! My students are beginning to write and publish their own narratives. It would be nice that they receive a hard copy for their own writing portfolios.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with 7th grade writers. These students learn to express themselves with words. My students work well in cooperative groups using strategies they learn from one another such as peer editing, peer revising, and presenting their works. Our middle school school is located on the southwest side of Chicago where 96% of the student body is Hispanic and 98% of the students come from low income families. Also, the neighborhood is full of violence daily. The best way to keep these students engaged and focused is to channel their energy in creative ways including their writing. I have future song writers, rappers, film writers, actors, doctors, lawyers, and students that want to create their own business plans but it cannot be possible with out the basics of writing fundamentals and practice. They are creative, full of energy, and enthusiastic about their passions.
My Project
Our school just received our very own classroom set of Chromebooks. We use them to conduct research and type our written work, but we need a printer to publish our work! Having printer and ink available in the classroom allows my students to have the resources to publish their written assignments and Power point presentations. Throughout the year my class has worked on multiple research projects and their own poetry projects. My students are very proud of what they are able to create. By having these supplies they will have the means to publish their work, display it on bulletin boards and preserve it for years to come!
