Bring Our Classroom Home!

Help me give my students some fun and exciting games, coloring books, reading books and flashcards to practice, while we endure our continued learning at home and try to conform to our new ordinary.

My Students

My students are motivated by routine, structure and LOVE!!! They simply just love school. They loved the daily routines that we followed and were motivated daily, to give me their very best. The current situation has challenged them more than ever, in these trying times. It has proven to themselves, their parents, and me that they are leaders, self-motivated and willing to succeed in the face of a struggle.

Their current learning environment has shifted from a structured, routine placement everyday, to the unknown for some, the routine for some and the chaotic for some.

While some of these students have parents who can work with them at home, others have very little at home to work with and often are left at home with siblings to tend to them or work with them on their current school work that is often too difficult, as it already is.

Along with the structure and routine being lost, they have also lost the valuable resources they have everyday, at their fingertips. We have many resources in our classroom that our students only dream about having at home to use for play and learning.

My Project

These games and other items will help my students feel a little more like they are back in the comforts of their 3rd grade classroom. I can't bring all of the classroom components to them, but we can send a little bit of comfort their way with these special gifts that can be left on their door steps.

The comfort of familiar games and items that they are used to seeing in the classroom will ultimately remind them that we WILL return in time, if only to learn together once again.

The books will give them a reminder that reading is the key to success. The coloring books will give them peace of mind and allow them to relieve the stress of this pandemic and our new "normal", along with getting their family involved in the mindfulness practices of coloring and relaxation.

Finally, the flashcards will give them a better way to practice those essential standards they need before moving on to the next grade.
