My Students

This diverse group of kids work so hard and deserve the best education. Our school is considered a high poverty school, yet our test scores are in the top 20% for the state of California. My students prove that hard work and dedication will get them where they need in life. Because of this hard work, I really want to give them a world class education.

Music is unique in that it teaches the whole child.

Students develop critical thinking skills, creativity, communication and collaboration skills, while also improving reading and spatial reasoning abilities. And you cannot disregard the benefits of having one class every day where, no matter your background, you can live in "harmony" with your classmates. It's a beautiful subject to teach.

My Project

This portable speaker will be used for so many things. We listen to examples of music all the time, and this will allow all the kids to hear the examples. Additionally, it is compact and portable so we can use it for sectional work when kids go to other rooms and the hallway to practice their singing. Plus it has a microphone so we can use it for our solo unit!

So many uses!

We will also use this for our musical rehearsals, which is an extra curricular open up to the entire school. Kids can practice their choreography anywhere with this awesome speaker!
