The students in my school come from many different income levels, and most come into the classroom ready to learn and be successful. Like many teachers in public schools, I like to do anything I can to help my students succeed. Students in my seventh grade Language Arts classes consistently use technology to enhance their education. One of the things students complete is a passion project website. For this project students design web pages to showcase a topic that they are passionate about. This project is a favorite of my students each year as it gives them a chance to show me who they are and what makes them tick.
My students are very creative with classroom projects when it comes to technology, and they often teach ME new things along the way!
I truly believe this comes from having grown up with computers. They know them well and are not afraid to take risks, and this helps them create fabulous projects. I would like to help them with these projects in any way I can...and to inspire them to reach for the stars!
My Project
My students use Chromebooks in my classroom. Having a computer mouse for each Chromebook will be helpful when they are in the creative mode, trying to move things around on the screen. Sometimes creating storyboards, slide shows, or picture shows can be difficult without a mouse, so having them will help my students greatly.
Having Computer Mice would help them immensely when they are creating documents or slideshows, telling stories, or even doing research.
It will make it much easier for them to move things around on the screen with just one hand. I also think it will cut down on frustration levels as they are creating things for class.
