Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so thrilled to start this new school year out with a fantastic group of sweet fifth graders! They are so very eager to learn, create, and communicate. They work hard and they don't give up!
Our school has a spectacular staff and incredible community support!
Even though we are located in a low socioeconomic area, it is clear that parents want the best for their children by their active involvement. All of our students receive free breakfast and over 80% receive free lunch. My students face many daily challenges, but they always come to school with dazzling smiles, ready to have fun learning!
My Project
My students are very enthusiastic about school. They love to learn and have fun. We were just reading a story about the Titanic and we came across the word plaques. While most of my students never heard the word before, a few only knew the definition as it relates to teeth! We really need color ink so I can print more pictures of multiple meaning and weekly vocabulary words. Students will get a much better understanding than definitions alone. They will quickly increase their vocabulary skills! We need the card stock to print colorful task cards to review key concepts.
Your help will engage my students in the English language.
They will be able to see what vocabulary words mean. Test scores will surely increase as images become concrete. You will make a huge difference in my students' lives!
