My Students
My students are amazing! (And when I say "my students," I mean *every single student in the whole school,* because I am the Art Teacher and I get to work with all of them!)
Our school serves a highly-diverse population. Many are immigrants from all over the world, and many are English Language Learners. The majority of the population is classified as high-poverty. I am also fortunate in that I get to work with students served by Special Education, who are mainstreamed into my art classes. My students are lively, expressive, eager to learn, and they LOVE ART!
My Project
Drawing paper and colored construction paper are the basics of any Art Room. Our school serves a largely high-poverty population. We are in the second year in our beautiful new building, which includes an amazing art room which every classroom gets to visit every week! We have extremely limited funds and our art budget is very small, but our students deserve a rich and engaging art program!
In order to keep the children supplied with basic materials for creative projects, they need to have a supply of PAPER! They will use this paper to create paintings, drawings, collages, paper sculptures....and whatever else their creative minds come up with!
