My students need science books and materials. We will be studying plants and insects and these materials would enhance their learning experience. Help bring more nature into our classroom!
The second grade students in my classroom are an excitable group of learners. They are clever writers and silly storytellers. They love to share what they learn while reading a book. They enjoy creating science experiments and learning about animals. My students come from many different countries and speak many different languages such as Hebrew, Tamil, Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, and Russian.
My students are is very curious about the world and they are always asking questions.
They all have a growth mindset, and they are striving to be the best learners that they can be. They love exploring new topics and learning new things.
My Project
These materials will help bring more nature exploration into our classroom. For our next science unit we will be studying plants and insects. My students will be learning how to keep a nature journal to write and draw about the observations they will make while growing plants and raising mealworms and caterpillars.
The kids will be using the books as mentor texts to research and write science lab reports.
The garden root viewer will let the students learn about the plant life cycle. They will use the insects figures, life cycle figures, and magnified bug viewer to study the life cycle of an insect.
