My students need the Kindle Fires for their listening center. These students have grown up with tablets and phones and that's all they know how to use. My CD and tape listening center is not motivating.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students ( Mrs. Griffin’s crew) are amazing. I can see such potential in their little eyes. I would love to expand my children’s knowledge by using different apps.

The students at my school are very bright however they lack certain resources to grow.

They are used to using technology and our classroom is a little behind. They come from diverse backgrounds but I know with the right motivation they will succeed in reading. Reading motivation truly comes from passion.

My Project

My students are very bright and able to be amazing students. They are digital savvy and the current listening station for my classroom is not motivating to them because they don’t understand cds and tapes. The are not from the age of cds, tapes, or albums. They only know tablets and phones. If we were able to have this project funded, I believe that my students will develop a hunger to read, which will minimize their reading deficiencies. Motivation to read equals success. Being able to give them the gift of having these kindle fires, my students will be more motivated to succeed and they will be more prepared for the world as students.
