This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
"Fan the projector when it overheats" should not be a classroom job. My school is an underfunded, high poverty school. Math is a high-stakes tested subject in Maryland, so if I can't reach my students they will not be able to graduate high school.
It is hard enough to keep students engaged in math and help them take notes, even when the projector is working.
An LCD projector will allow for more engaging and more informative activities - videos, math games, clearer notes, and letting everyone see the calculator. It will also help my students develop the note-taking skills they will need to succeed in college by moving them away from guided note sheets.
Your help will give my students the opportunity to engage with math and prepare them for a test that will determine their eligibility for graduation.
