Fifth grade is an exciting year that allows students to grow and become more independent in their learning. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and all come together to create our perfect little classroom family. This year was an extra exciting one since our classroom family had the opportunity to stay together for another school year!
Our classroom, both within the building and as distance learning is a positive and student-centered learning environment.
We have it all in one general ed room--autism, visual impairments, gifted learners, learning disabilities, foster students, emotions, reading deficits, ADHD... but we do not let it define us.
Creating a true classroom community encourages students to take control of their learning, creating lifelong learners. This has never been more evident than now in a distance learning platform. The students care for each other, encourage each other and work to do their very best... even through a screen!
My Project
We are in very uncertain times and my students are learning from home. While it is not ideal, we are all doing our best to keep the learning going and to stay connected as a class family!
While some students have computer access to allow them to continue learning with us, others do not.
Please help me to supply a family from our classroom with a Chromebook to allow them to participate in our Google Classroom learning environment. Students can read online, participate in class Zoom lessons, create projects demonstrating their understanding of lessons, practice skills and be involved in class discussions.
A Chromebook allows learning opportunities to be accessed at any time from home and this goes for every student in the household. One Chromebook has the opportunity to bless an entire family!
