Do you remember being in an old run down classroom with no supplies and the teacher trying to make the best of it. My students have to lean over their tables to see the subject matter and displays, which are 50 years old,and just about fall out of their seats.
My students are from very low income families.
They go to a Title 1 school. They would like to have a chance of being able to learn just like the schools on the hill do and have all the technology that those schools have. In California these students need a chance to get ahead and make it in the world.
My Project
My first graders need these items to give themselves, who are the leaders of tomorrow, a fighting chance of getting the education they need and not end up working in dead end jobs or worse in jail. The students will be able to be more interested in school, especially math and science. The math concepts will be used to show the students up close how to count and perform basic mathematical operations. Also, it can and will be used to show the students scientific details of the of weather patters, math worksheets and other important materials in math and science. The students will learn about life science, earth science, and electromagnetic motors. They will also learn all of the math skills that they need to know to be successful through life. These items will give the underprivileged children a chance at survival and rather than being a statistic or a ward of the court.
Also, statistics show that 95% of the students that I teach will either end up dead at an early age or in jail.
