My students come from an assorted range of socio-economic backgrounds that include households rich in diversity, and they encompass an eclectic breadth of intellectual abilities. Students at my school are faced with challenges that hamper their long-term success as students and adults. College and career readiness is my overall goal in my daily engagements with my students.
Regardless of the backgrounds of my students, I tirelessly labor to keep my lessons uncomplicated and seize to any chance to provide my students with the necessary tools they need to be successful in school and elsewhere.
My Project
Last school year, my school became a test school for one to one student computers. While I found this to be a boundless resource for most students, I continued to notice students struggling to utilize the potential of their newfound assets. By acquiring 25 mice, 25 mouse pads, and 5 extension cords, my classroom could more easily follow along with instruction and spend less time frustrated with their computer's trackpad and gain deeper knowledge of the strategies I am teaching.
The students will use the 25 mice everyday to navigate complex programs like Google Docs, Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and Word Programs to generate data, graphs, and conduct scientific research.
Students will use the mice to help them utilize featured classroom apps and programs with more ease, skill, and less frustration!
