We are getting into the groove of things in kindergarten. Five year olds are such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold a pencil.
My classroom is about building skills to feel confident and take risks.
The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
In order to meet all of my students' needs in their learning, it is essential that my classroom have areas where students have a safe, clean space to learn. It would be so wonderful to have a new learning alphabet rug.
My Project
Help me give my students a new, clean and interactive classroom rug where they can have their personal space and learn the alphabet!
My students foundation starts with learning the alphabet.
Having a classroom rug that has each letter of the alphabet for each student's personal space, lends itself so nicely for learning throughout the day. There are so many fun activities I can implement with this alphabet rug that include singing, moving and so much learning.
Having the letters of the alphabet where students spend a majority of their day, will give students more time to learn their letter names and sounds in a fun and natural way.
This will help bring my students more quickly into the world of reading and writing while giving them their own comfortable personal space!
