This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

During this time, all of my music students were sent home at a moments notice, unable to retrieve or borrow music instruments and resources needed to continue their musical studies. So many of these students are stuck at home for the rest of the school year. That means those who are preparing to audition for high school next year will not have access to the resources they need. Without these resources, many of these students will be unable to continue at the next level.

My Project

Let's face the facts, our students need fun and engaging activities to do at home. The tried and true activity of music will break back the soul of so much of what we have lost during these last few months. As schools are closed, it is impossible to get music resources to those students who truly need them.

These Ukuleles will help us get music resources to those students who truly need them in this time of need.

With these ukuleles, I will be able to offer online music classes and ensemble work during this time of crisis. Ukuleles are a perfect instrument for a time like this as they are easy to access and are meant for playing popular songs that students and their families can play and sing together.
