Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is currently coming up with creative ways to enrich our student's lives. We want to have a variety of clubs for the students to participate in. I am interested in having an arts club where the students can create murals for the numerous themes the grades are learning, to create statues or masks for the ancient culture units, to do a variety of art activities using numerous types of media.
Students have a lot of artistic abilities that are not tapped into. If the school does have the art club the students will be able to express themselves visually but they will also do some research to assure that they work is accurate.
I believe in learning through art. I am going to strongly pursue this project for the students of PS 206. I would love to have the materials listed to begin that wonderful journey with students.
