My fourth grade students come from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school serves students from neighborhoods and rural areas. They come to school each day eager to learn, see their friends, and give their best effort.
Our school is full of bright, energetic students who deserve to have the resources they need to make their learning as engaging and meaningful as possible!
I am proud of the hard work they do every day and the effort they make to stay focused in class.
My Project
My students love American history and having historical character costumes that they can wear will have them so excited and engaged they will never forget the lesson they are bringing to life! We will use these costumes to reenact scenes in history. This will not only cement the lesson in the minds of the actors, but also for the spectators as well. These costumes will also come in very handy when we do our annual Storytelling Festival that includes a Wax Museum of historical characters. Many of my students can't afford to buy these costumes, and they could borrow them for the event. I can already anticipate the excitement these costumes will generate should this project be funded!
