My Students
My students come from a broad range of backgrounds and experience, but the one thing they all share is a sincere passion for the environment. This passion leads them to discover what issues matter most to them and look for ways they can contribute to solutions.
The two most important lessons I want my students to learn is that all things are connected and that they have the power to change the world.
Leopold's book will help them grasp both those important ideas.
My Project
Aldo Leopold is known as the "Father of Conservation". His short stories, anecdotes and insights will help my students relate to the ethics of living with nature instead of against it. His writings are a tool that will teach my students how all things are connected and how important it is to take the time to appreciate nature and the lessons it can teach us.
Leopold's writings are a blueprint for how we should strive to live and work together to protect our planet now and in the future.
By reading and discussing Leopold's writings, my students will discover a new way of looking at everything around them. From appreciation of a simple prairie plant to the importance of keystone species, Leopold's book is an inspiration to all who read it.
