Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Motivated and determined, living in a richly diverse urban, working-class community, my students thrive to engineer with a purpose. Struggling to overcome extreme economic hardship, we walk the walk and strive to make our mark through hard work and dedication, athleticism and team building.
We use art as technology to explore our creativity, while challenging ourselves to learn new skills and develop new techniques as designers, while promoting solutions.
Our scholars' cultural diversity is our strength and builds our community. My students treat one another with courtesy, they speak and act appropriately. Living in extreme poverty strengthens our students' character, self-determination and work ethic. We take care of each other, ourselves, and our school.
My Project
In our Digital Arts Lab, once students have completed their preliminary drawings, they must produce a final draft. The best way for them to do this is by using a translucent film to trace their first draft, and then ink and color it.
Students need drawing film for their final drafts and colored pencils to color.
Derwent makes the finest colored pencils and the film we are requesting will accept ink and colored pencils or any other medium.
Colored pencils and drawing film combined work hand in hand for a brilliant and permanent illustration which they can scan and add to their portfolios.
