Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

In this first grade class, the students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. We have an ethnically and economically diverse group. Students have a range of abilities and work well together, supporting one another's efforts. There are a few English language learners, a few students with special needs, and several gifted students.

We are a community of writers who write together and individually every day!

Some of us write well above grade level, some are on level and some write below grade level expectations, but we all write every day.

My Project

Math games and manipulatives I have selected here are intended to extend learning, promote cooperative interaction and allow student to be actively engaged while I work with small groups. My students will love exploring with these brain stimulating games and activities. The interlocking sticks, magnetic balls and building tiles foster creative open ended problem solving that strengthen engineering skills and interest. We will use these supplies every day! Creating and sharing and extending learning is the goal in this project. Students will engage in cooperative play with the games. We will model for each other how to share materials and ideas. Math will be so much more enriching with these incredible materials! Make our day and contribute to this Math STEM centered project. Students will only gain with these materials!
