My third grade students love to read books! Books provide them with windows and doors to both new and familiar places and also provide them with mirrors so they can see themselves in the characters that they read about. They love to sit in different areas of the classroom and enjoy their favorite books.
Our school is one of the oldest schools in our district on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
Up until the mid-'90s, children of the Oahu Sugar Company workers comprised the majority of the school population. The closing of the sugar plantation has brought many changes to our school community. Many of our families live in multi-family or multi-generational homes. 55% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches. 30% of our families speak a language other than English at home.
Our students are respectful, energetic, inquisitive learners who come to school eager to learn. Their love for learning is evident in the way they enjoy learning and trying new things.
My Project
Students love to read books and spend time in our classroom library! These bean bag chairs will add an inviting touch to our already popular classroom library. In addition, these flexible seating options can also be easily moved around the room so that students can also use them throughout the school day.
The addition of these Brilliant Bean Bag Chairs to our classroom will give students the opportunity to lounge comfortably and relax as they immerse themselves in their favorite books, work with their classmates, and participate in large and small group discussions.
Students will love the flexibility of these Brilliant Bean Bag Chairs!
