This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My art students are in a Title I, low poverty area. They come to school with many challenges ranging from learning disabilities to hunger. However, they always amaze me with their creativity and imagination! They welcome new tasks with an open mind and consistently give 100% in all they do! Our school is filled with many students who come from low-income families and are limited in their experiences. Despite some problems and difficulties that many of the students are presented with daily, they still come to school with a smile on their face, ready and willing to learn! As their art teacher, my job is to create an environment that is rich and meaningful. They all deserve the chance to feel inspired and should be given every opportunity to succeed!

My Project

Every day my students share several different art supplies at their table groups. They rummage through containers finding the perfect shade of crayon or colored pencil that will make their artwork shine. When it's time to cut and glue they go to the bookshelf to gather their scissors and glue to bring back their table group. With 30-50 students in a classroom finding the exact art supply they need can take valuable time away from their art projects.

With these caddies, students will be able to have the art supplies they need organized and readily available at their table.

Students will be able to sort crayons by color and not dig through a pencil box to find that perfect shade. Colored pencils, markers, scissors, and glue will be all within reach and easy to access.

Students can spend more time creating and less time gathering supplies!
