Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are currently from the southside of Chicago in the Englewood area. Unfortunately this is a low income area and children are deeply affected by a lack of resources. With the increase in violence throughtout the community my students still perservere and come to school everyday ready to learn. I am greeted each morning with bright eyes and smiling faces. Seeing them excited about school, eager for math and prepared for the day drives my passion for teaching. My students are wonderful individuals that are ready to conquer the world!

Because we are still in the middle of a pandemic, I make sure on a daily basis to encourage and support my students through social-emotional learning.

We share our thoughts and concerns through community builders, ice breaker games and videos. It's important for them to know that their voice matters! I have the pleasure of teaching smart, compassionate, and intuitive students.
