Mrs. Zietz from Upper Marlboro MD is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students tools to express themselves. These supplies can be used over multiple subject areas. The Wikki Stix can help students write their sight words. The markers will brighten up their pictures and knowledge.

Teaching in a low-income school county, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My goal is to find creative ways as well to keep the learning engaging for them. I want the students to feel comfortable and become their own author by providing a journal for them to use.
My students are creative, eager to learn, and imaginative.
They love hands-on learning and being famous story tellers with the limited amount of resources we have.
A lot of my students are raised in single family homes, just moved to the country, or can't afford the basic school needs. This has prevented them from building the structural knowledge they would need to excel and feel confident while learning. Some can't afford to express their creativity without the proper tools.
My classroom is a safe and fun place for the students to go. Most of the materials requested will allow my students to learn, as well as have fun things to do while learning. I am only helping them realize their full potential.
School is a place where the students are ready to come and learn. These first grade students are so imaginative and want to be able to express themselves with the proper tools. With the support from the donors, I am able to make their work as beautiful and colorful like the students' knowledge.
Using color and details is what helps the students with their imagination and take pride in their work.
I'm requesting school supplies to work with, whiteboard markers to help further their education (and not waste paper), Wikki stix and playdough so the students can practice the their sight words and math skills through interaction.
With the support from donors my students can express themselves creatively! Helping students strive as learners is a good way to build the future. My students will love using the hands-on education approach to show how well they are succeeding throughout the year with these supplies.
