Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love that I teach in an Early Childhood Special Education blended classroom. I get the best of both worlds teaching students with diverse needs. My students come from families of lower income and higher needs. Life is already challenging, but having a Pre-K program that serves families without any need for anything to bring to school is amazing.
These students need diversity, emotional and social support, and even more love!
I love teaching students; those with higher needs makes it just that more rewarding to see their growth when their world is sometimes not so pleasant. My students' smiles makes my day.
My Project
I teach Special Education pre-K. My students paint and use markers everyday. Towards the end of the year we have limited supplies. Our families are low income. The markers help my students with small and fine motor skills. The paint will do the same. Some of my students use the painting for sensory time but they all enjoy painting on our easel. They love seeing their work seen in and out of the classroom. Please help them continuing brightening our classroom. These students thrive by using art during centers. Our students write in journals everyday. Also our writing utensils include the the use of markers every day.
