Help me give my students seating that is not only functional, but also fun. The colors in my room are the biggest thing my students notice when they come in.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
About 80% of my students come from a low socioeconomic background, but a good majority of them do not let that hold them back. They are very eager to learn. They also view our classroom as their own. They students are quick to take action when something needs attention. My students love the bright colors they see each time they come through my door. The seating at our group table needs attention, and I want to take that same action for them by providing adequate seating for them.
My Project
I believe these stools are going to make group time brighter for my students. Currently, my students are using bulky chairs that do not fit the table or the students themselves very well. The students have to try to squeeze their chairs into a very small space, and the chairs are so large that they don’t allow the students to move the way the need to in order to focus. Students will be able to move these around with ease, and stack them away when not in use. In a classroom of 30 students and student desks, this will greatly improve our mobility, and cut down on distractions. My special education students will also benefit from the dry erase circles because it will give them a place to practice their work.
