This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Third grade has begun and we are off to an amazing start!
The scholars at our school are creative and critical thinkers and I am always trying to find new and engaging ways to help them learn.
I am looking forward to continuing a year of fun and meaningful learning. My kids love to be challenged and the look on their faces when they have their "lightbulb moment" is priceless. Nothing is better than hearing, "Ohhh! I get it now!"
I teach at a Title I School where 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch. I am trying to utilize all resources possible to build a solid foundation for my students in all aspects of their learning and to make sure my students receive the best education possible.
My Project
These materials, specifically the bright, colorful paper, will help my students create and maintain their interactive notebooks and anchor charts.
Now that they are in 3rd grade, we are really striving for more independence!
We are creating an interactive notebook for each subject so that all of our reference materials, notes, and mini-anchor charts can be easily located, making it much more efficient for my students to refer back to these notebooks for assistance. These bright materials are eye-catching and much more engaging for my students. The coloring supplies will help us add visualizations to our notes as this is one of our school's literacy focuses this year! The tape and command strips will help us display our larger anchor charts on the wall without worrying about them falling down mid-year.
