My Students

Our class is made up of nineteen energetic students. There are 9 girls and 10 boys that complete our 4th grade classroom. This group of students are very high energy. They love games and most importantly, they thrive and gain the most knowledge when they are engaged with fun activities that go above and beyond the normal classroom assignments. This group of students are always ready for the next challenge and are always excited about our days adventures. I love that no matter what I throw at them, behavior is never something I have to worry about holding us back. Our year has just begun, and I am so anxious for how far we will grow together.

My Project

During reading, the students often get bored with the material and the mountains of comprehension questions that follow. I've found a way to encourage my students and brighten their outlook on reading. We will gain new heights in reading by using an everyday highlighter to highlight and emphasize the key details and information throughout our readings. Then, we will make them stand out from all of the other information by turning off the lights, and using these black lights to make the key details and main ideas shine brightly above everything else. I want reading to be fun and engaging. With the black lights, we can make everyday a fun day of learning and travel through many settings with characters that we will grow to know and understand.
