Help me give my students the opportunity for adventures beyond our little community with a trip to a Detroit Tigers game.
This project expired on January 10, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our students need a memory making opportunity! They live in a rural, low-income area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our K-12 building now houses under 600 students. Over 79% receive free/reduced meals through the school because of low socioeconomic background.
Our students want to enrich their lives through museums tours, a major league sporting event, and other activities in the big city!
They are a great group of kids determined to endure what it takes so they can reach their goals.
We want to help our students experience life outside of this small community with memorable adventures including a tour of the Holocaust Memorial Center. Students will see a game that is more than just on tv, listen to the honest words of a Holocaust survivor, and travel into America's past at the Henry Ford Museum.
Leaving the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and venturing outside of our rural area is something some students have not yet had the opportunity to do.
Students will have several activities that will provide them the chance to grow not only individually, but as part of a team too. This will be for the Class of 2023.
