This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are all bright and eager to learn new things, but do not always have all of the materials that they need in order to be successful. When in the classroom, I make sure that no matter what they come in with, they always have what they need. However, due to the pandemic, my students have faced a harder time gaining access to materials that they need. Many do not have access to technology and are depending on paper packets for their learning. My goal is to not only provide them with paper packets, but to supply them with the tools that they need to truly understand and practice the skills that they are working on.

My Project

Though I have mailed my students paper books and supplemental resources, distance learning has caused many of them to falter in their learning. Many do not have access to technology, books to read, or family members that are able to support them with their work.

My students have been told all year that we are a community and a family of learners, readers, and writers.

These Kindles will give my students access to books that they can read, to online forums where they can work on assignments and we can interact so that I can provide the support that they need, and also additional programs that I can download that will give them the ability to practice their math and literacy skills.
