My Students

My students are an amazing, creative, and energetic group of individuals. They all come to school excited to experience success and are ready to learn. They work together to create a classroom environment that is inclusive and safe for everyone.

They are passionate about art projects, protecting our Earth, making a difference, and enjoy learning new skills.

These students face many challenges. Our school has over 60% of the students receiving a free or reduced-price lunch. They work really hard and are eager to learn.

My Project

Our 96 fourth graders are learning at home this year through remote learning. My hope is that by reading novels together, we can bridge the divide created by not actually being together in the classroom. These books will bring our class together online through the use of the beloved Bridge to Terabithia novel. Kids love to read, and especially to be read to. Having a book in common throughout the whole grade level will be so wonderful.

These Bridge to Terabithia novels will be distributed to the students when their families pick up their other textbooks and supplies.

These books will allow them to enhance their vocabulary and comprehension skills while participating in online reading and discussion. By reading the same book together, we will be able to hold book groups, and so much more!
