This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a unique blend of varying educational and socioeconomic levels. This eccentric bunch is always willing to try something new and show off their idiosyncrasies. These eighth grade students have described the classroom as a place that feels like family. They have said, "When they walk into the room, it is like going home."
These energetic students come in wild-eyed and ready to learn.
The witty bunch will amaze a reluctant observer exhibiting their energetic love of learning.
My Project
This school year I am looping with my students from the 7th grade to the 8th grade. I will collaborate with the Social Studies teacher where students will learn about local town history, family history and compare to their present lives. Students need the basic necessities to make this project a success. Every item will be used by all students. Pencils and erasers will create and draft personal and family stories. Post notes and paper will be used with discussions, and collaborations The students will use folders for organization. The sentence strips will be used to create six word memoirs of town history.
