I need intervention books to bridge the gap in my kids' academic levels. The Jennifer Servallo's strategy books help give me something to build upon with the students who our curriculum has lost them.
Hello, thank you for getting to know a little behind my why. I am a first-year school teacher for Special Education. I am a firm believer in advocating for those who cannot always express themselves the way they need to, to be successful.
My kiddos are extremely hard-working students who want more than anything - to succeed in life.
I may have some who struggle with academics but I am giving them the support and foundation to build upon. They always want to do what they can to get my approval and be the best students they can be - sometimes we forget, in frustrating times, to slow down and just try our best.
My Project
The RtI Math text is a great example of research-based Intervention that helps struggling mathematicians. The evidence-based practice proves that this book has helped several kiddos.
In Jennifer Servallos' text; A Reading Strategy Guide and Writing Strategies, give a map of what the student should know first before moving to the next concept.
For example, the students need to be able to comprehend before they can tell me the main idea. Also, being able to organize your thoughts before you can write them down.
Understanding Texts & Readers is one of the hottest wanted books coming out. It will help my students accomplish reading at multiple levels.
Ultimately, these books are for my professional library in my classroom to help me be a better teacher and come up with teaching strategies.
