Mrs. Brannon from Vicksburg MS is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need the Ortho Box to better understand multi views in drafting. Several of the workbooks included will provide more examples and techniques to teach drafting and engineering bridges.

Our school district is 75% free and reduced lunches. We are in a community with families that make six figures as well as poverty stricken families. Our school district is recovering from years of hardship. We have recently boosted our resources and access to technology as well as placing technology in every classroom and students' hands. Now we just need to equip teachers and students to take full advantage of the resources available to them.
The goal of my program is to provide STEM education to as many students as possible, especially the under-served girls and minorities in our area.
We have many STEM employment opportunities in our community, but do not have enough qualified locals to take on the tasks. In response, companies are trying to recruit among college grads from all over the nation with mixed results.
The first major topic in our engineering program is drafting. Students struggle with 3D imaging and sketching a 3D object on paper. The Ortho Box from Pitsco allows students to view a 3D object from one perspective at a time. The drawing workbooks will help provide more examples and techniques for students and teachers in our program.
Our students are all considering engineering professions, but lack experiences that relate their high school learning to engineering.
This year was our first dive into bridge building, civil engineering, and applied math and science objectives. We lack examples and need more resources. These bridge workbooks will help us better demonstrate truss forces, how to build and design a balsa wood bridge.
Lastly, we need drafting supplies. Our students will potentially be receiving college credit based on their performance in our course as well as an industry certification for drafting software. We need resources to ensure they get a proper understanding of drafting and pre-engineering.
